We're back, in person! 26.05.2021

Save the Date

Restrictions are lifting and Wakefield venues are preparing to open their doors for the first ‘in real life’ Artwalk in over a year

It's exciting but we're not getting too carried away! Each venue is responsible for managing its own covid-19 safety procedures and we'll be easing you in with a small collection of exhibitions and events in venues around the city centre.

Safe, managed and, dare we say it, just a little bit normal.

Or as normal as we get anyway!

Taking place on Wednesday 26 May, 17:00 – 21:00, this month’s Artwalk will showcase local talent and celebrate the cultural life of Wakefield, with live music, artwork and interactive exhibitions.

On the night you will have the opportunity to join The Merrie Collective for some collaborative conversation and making in The Ridings Shopping Centre, see neon fireworks and rooftop art installations by Wakefield-based artist Richard Wheater and enjoy live music in the Boogie Woogie Bagel Bar.

Plus, The Art House will be celebrating artwork made by people across Wakefield during the Covid-19 lockdown, exploring experiences and memories of their homes and neighbourhoods with the exhibition 'Home, Street, City: Finding Sanctuary in Wakefield'.

We would love to know what you think about Artwalk.
