Join us as we celebrate creativity with The Great Big Art Exhibition
For the second Artwalk of 2021, we’re taking over windows throughout Wakefield City Centre to display creations by Wakefield District residents and workers!
This is a response to The Great Big Art Exhibition, a 100-day initiative encouraging people to hang artwork in windows across the UK to celebrate the creativity in each and every one of us. Launching on Wednesday 31 March for Artwalk Wakefield, the works (reproduced as A0 posters) will be displayed in windows across the city centre, creating an art trail for the public to explore safely whilst many cultural institutions and venues remain closed.
This is an open call for visual art, photography, designs, literature and lyrics. We want to celebrate your creativity and display your work with pride. As with the majority of Artwalk events, this is an opportunity to showcase your work and celebrate the work of others. It is not a paid opportunity and we strongly encourage you to submit existing work rather than working on something new.
Whatever your age, background, experience or medium, we’d love to hear from you. We especially welcome submissions from those who are traditionally under-represented in the art world, including but not limited to people under 30, disabled people, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, Black, Asian and other people from ethnic minorities.
