The Orangery
Made North – Designer Showcase
The exhibition will showcase products, furniture and printed works by the most exciting designers and makers in the north of England. The curated selection will help to promote Northern designers and their work to a wider audience. The showcase will also be featured within the London Design Festival in October 2012.
The north of England has produced some of the most innovative and respected creative individuals the world has seen. Henry Moore, Vivienne Westwood, Damien Hirst, Mike Leigh, Danny Boyle, David Hockney and Peter Saville, to name just a few, illustrate the wealth of talent that the north produces.
‘Made North’ celebrates today’s innovators and provides a creative platform for presenting and debating ideas, processes and technology to inspire the future design talent emerging from the north.
Exhibition Dates
- Exhibition continues until 8 June 2012.
BEAM and Artists in the Public Realm
Beam is currently working on a new research and development project, funded by Arts Council England and private investment, which aims to develop and explore the work of artists in the public realm, and encourage public participation in the arts using The Orangery as a key resource.
During this month’s Artwalk you’ll have a chance to explore and contribute to the work of two contemporary artists at The Orangery.
