FdA Web Design
The FdA Web Design course at Wakefield College were delighted to be asked to create Wakefield Artwalk’s new website.
Employability is the cornerstone of a Foundation Degree qualification, and the chance to work on commercial projects such as this provides fantastic, irreplaceable, experience for our students.
Founded in 1999, the course offers a relevant, high-quality curriculum that covers all aspects of web design and web development. The result is a succession of graduates employed in the local web design industry.
The course is taught by highly experienced staff and industry professionals alike, and with award winning input from local web design employers, FdA Web Design successfully prepares graduates for a career in the creative industries.
DesignLeft
DesignLeft are a graphic design studio with a reputation for being creative, cost-effective, reliable and personable. Creating design for print and web, they serve a portfolio of clients across a number of market sectors, including the arts, charity, education, finance, health, manufacturing, publishing and voluntary. Their services include:
- Logos and branding – From simple logo makeovers to complete brand identities, fully researched, developed and implemented across print and web media through the creation of brand guidelines.
- Stationery – Full stationery sets, including letterheads, business cards and compliments slips.
- Websites – High quality websites, constructed to international web standards and compliant with current electronic commerce and accessibility regulations.
- Websites for Smartphones – Websites designed to provide users of smartphones and tablets, such as iPhone and iPad, with a pleasurable experience, enabling them to find their way around the website quickly and efficiently.
- Marketing – Leaflets, brochures and posters to promote a company, service, product or event.
- Publications – Periodicals, including programmes, magazines, journals and annual reports.
- Books and eBooks – From the cover to the internal page design of both text and illustrated books, and guidance through the self-publishing process to produce printed books and ebooks in PDF and ePub formats.
Creative Minds
Creative Minds is a social enterprise, which works with organisations and individuals to realise their potential and make a difference by releasing their creative and entrepreneurial abilities. Established in 2010 by creative entrepreneur Jane Walton, Creative Minds works with government, local authorities, business support organisations, professional bodies, businesses, the voluntary sector and enterprise education providers to ensure that the barriers which disable creativity and enterprise are overcome.
With over 20 years experience in managing organisations, leading campaigns and mentoring individuals Jane has supported the development of creative enterprises including working with many of the regions museums and galleries. Jane believes in giving back and works on a voluntary basis with young people to develop creative businesses through the Princes Trust.
